Thank You

Thank you so much for your support and for showing up to make a statement to Dublin City Council.

Unfortunately, the outcome of the election was not positive for me. I did want to convey my sincere thanks to all of you that reached out and supported me throughout the campaign in any number of ways both large and small.

I am extremely encouraged by the results of this years’ election.  I garnered over 5,000 votes.  This is more votes than any challenger has ever won in the history of Dublin City Council.  In fact, until 2011, it was more votes than any City Council member had ever received.  Prior to this election, the most votes won by a member of Council was in 1999 when sitting mayor Chuck Kranstruber won 3,782 votes.  However, 2011 is not 1999 and this year we had exceedingly high voter turnout in Dublin and this resulted in a strong showing across the board.

Personally, I want to thank my wife Shelley for putting up with my campaign since April and encouraging me every step along the way.  I love her dearly and this only cements that love. I also want to thank my children who lost their Daddy to late
night meetings and lots of phone calls and to Marc Smith,my campaign treasurer, for all his support and efforts.

I wish the renewed slate of Dublin City Council members well and look forward to continuing to build a better Dublin for all of us.

Kevin

You ran a great campaign, and captured the attention of a good many folks. I’ve got to believe there is more in store for you and the good folks of Dublin you will serve in one capacity or another.
