Has Mike Keenan given up on his run for Dublin City Council? In the last two months, Mike has drained his campaign fund by giving away thousands of dollars to other campaigns. Mike has also missed two very important Council meetings. He appears to be winding down his campaign and getting ready to step aside. Let’s look at the facts.
In the latest campaign finance report filed by the deadline of 10/28/11, Mike Keenan reported giving away $18,100 of his $18,556 to other campaigns, including to the Campaign of the mayor of Grove City! He contributed campaign funds to state representatives in Cleveland, Urbana, Brook Park, Medina and Hilliard. In the last few weeks, he has drained his campaign fund. Funds were contributed to Mike Keenan for his campaign, not to the campaigns of Richard “Ike” Stage of Grove City. While these transfers from his campaign fund to other campaign funds is perfectly legal, it does look like a candidate that has given up on Dublin.
Mike has also missed two critical Council meetings in the last month. He was absent from the 2012 budget meeting where Council approved all projects and staff funding for 2012. He also missed the Council goal setting meeting where Council set the agenda for 2012 and set priorities for what work will be done in the coming year. Does this sound like a candidate that is looking forward to the future of Dublin or a candidate that has given up on Dublin?
